Job Title: Finance Business Manager
Reports to: Superintendent
Salary: $51,000 - $54,570
Work year: 11 months Monday-Thursday 40 hours per week
Job Summary:
West Grand School District 1-Jt is looking for a Finance Business Manager who will oversees the school district’s financial operations, focusing on tasks like financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulations, while also advising on strategic financial decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or 5 years of accounting experience.
- Preference given to knowledge/experience with Colorado School Finance.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, efficiency and ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
- Demonstrated effective staff and public relations skills.
- Willingness to take direction from supervisors.
- Demonstrated a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Essential Functions:
- Work with the Superintendent, plan and coordinate the school district’s budget process.
- Supervise the annual audit to ensure a timely review of all documents.
- Serves as finance business manager for grants and frequency reports to Superintendent.
- Prepare external reports to federal, state and regional governmental entities.
- Prepare and process the transmission of electronic data and maintain financial reports required by the State of Colorado and local Board of Education.
- Be responsible for all payroll, receipts of revenue and processing expenditures.
- Working with district office administrative assistant, ensuing efficient workflow and task completion.
- Coordinated and review the budget with Superintendent and K-12 principal.
- Assist in the writing of grants and research related to financial matters.
- Prepare quarterly reports for the board of education and post financial transparency records on the website.
- Follows all school district policies in the performance of their duties.
- Work in a positive manner with all staff, students, vendors and the public.
- Use professional discretion related to supervision and uses strict confidentiality practices.
