Reports to: K-12 Principal
Salary: $43,000 - $50,632
Work year: 166 days
Job Summary:
West Grand School District is seeking a dynamic individual who is enthusiastic about working with students in a small, rural community. West Grand School District fosters high standards with a commitment to providing an opportunity for students to achieve academically through positive educational experiences for all students. Committed to improving student performance and understanding health concepts. Responsible for planning, organizing and delivering lessons consistent with the physical education and health curriculum of their students’ grade level.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a Colorado Teacher License or be able to obtain one.
- Appropriate endorsement for the Elementary School teaching assignment.
- Preferred elementary or middle school teaching experience.
- Motivational style with exceptional communication leadership.
Essential Functions:
- Promotes grade-level standards in physical fitness
- Instructs students on the basic techniques needed to play team sports and other recreational activities
- Discuss the importance of living a healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical activity.
- Monitor and document student participation and progress.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Works cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning and implementing a balanced physical education program
- Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.
- Maintains control of storage and use of school property.
- Evaluates each student’s growth in physical skills, knowledge and contribution in team sports.
- Communicates with parents and school principal on student progress.
- Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings and other professional activities.
